Psalm 75:2-3
2You say, "I choose the appointed time; it is I who
judge uprightly. 3When the earth and the people quake, it is I who hold
its pillars firm."
God is one who does everything in His own time. A thousand years to us is like a day to Him. As the NIV
Study Bible states, "God does not fail to call the arrogant to
account." It may "appear" that evil doing is advancing and it may
"appear" that injustice has prevailed. Oh but God! God always brings
things back around for His glory to be shown. The quake in this Psalm
was about the crumbling that often takes place when evil doers advance
but God is the one who still holds things together. Things fall apart
just enough for the wrong doing to be exposed and disposed of. When?
When God sees fit. When the arrogant believe they are "home free" God
shows up. He gives time to repent and make a mends because He is slow to
anger. It is not for you and I to pursue the justice, God will do it
all on His own and in His own time.

Put in the Work
Proverbs 22:13
13The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside!" or, "I will be murdered in the streets!"
King Solomon coined the excuses of the sluggard or those who do not wish to put in the work. The excuses or distractions are often because the sluggard does not wish to rise to the occasion. Yet, they desire to have it all. You can not have the blessings at the table if you are unwilling to walk to the table. Put in the work. Yes, there are legitimate reasons when there really is a problem. But if one is creating a problem to keep from putting in the work then there is another situation. The sluggard wants to be spoon fed like a baby. But God is not interested in us staying babies forever. He desires soldiers and workmen and women to go forth in the earth and be His hands and feet. You can not be hands and feet if you are not willing to move them. But what if you don't want to be His hands and feet you say? That is your choice. But the greatest reward is when one has purpose. Not being His hands and feet will not lead you to your purpose and fulfillment. Put in the work. Putting in the work also means you can reap the harvest at God's appointed time. No matter what the work is, God will honor it as you honor where He has placed you and what He has given charge for you to do. Put in the work.

One Week
Luke 21:37
37Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives,
It was the last week of Jesus' earthly ministry. He did not spend it living it up nor did He spend it in complete solitude. In His last week of life, Jesus was still teaching at the temple. He was still giving of himself though He knew He was about to suffer a horrible death. If you knew you had one week left, what would you be doing? Would it be the selfless type of acts that Jesus displayed? Or would it be "all about you?" At night Jesus spent His time on the hill that looked over the city taking in the earthly view in His current state. Jesus accomplished a great deal within that one week. He came in on the donkey which was His triumphant ride that was also prophesied. He taught in the temple, had the last supper or passover meal with the disciples to prepare them for His departure and then that Friday was crucified for the remission of our sins. All week long in His last week of earthly life, Jesus displayed love and concern for others. Never doubt the amount of love Jesus has for you. He spent His entire earthly life preparing for that one week.

Negative Words
Psalm 109:18
18He wore cursing as his garment; it entered into his body like water, into his bones like oil.
David had a lot of slanderers. There were people who never had anything nice to say to David but were always speaking negative about him and wishing him harm. Did you know that is the same as cursing someone? Many don't see it that way but when one is always speaking something bad about you or hoping your endeavors fail, they are hurling curses at you. David asked God not to remain silent and to deal with them. He also mentioned they have no concept or desire to utter a blessing. They wear their negativity and cursing like clothes and it enters their body like water. Those that constantly utter negative words against you and over your life take great pleasure in it. But God does not. Most do not understand but when you are carrying out the plans God has designed for your life and walking in purpose, those curses being hurled at you are the same as cursing God. And who would dare curse God with such boldness? The mouth is a powerful weapon and is connected to one's heart. If anyone constantly hurls negativity at you and over you, pronounce that their words fall to the ground and let it go. Do not harbor anger against them because God deals with them in His own time.

A Desperate Measure Gone Wrong
2Kings 1:3
3But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Go up to and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?'
King Ahaziah reined for only two years after his father Ahab's death. Ahab was married to Jezebel. Ahab allowed Jezebel to use the power she had with him to take over and convince him to serve her pagan god and he even allowed her to have an innocent man murdered. He attempted to serve both the pagan god and the God who brought him to power. Ahaziah was in his upper room and he fell and hurt himself. Instead of seeking God for healing, King Ahaziah sent his messengers to seek the pagan god to see if he would live or die. Because God had been quiet Ahaziah decided not to even bother with the one and only true God. And for it, Elijah was told to pronounce his death. Ahaziah did not believe God would answer nor did he seek healing.
When God is quiet, where are you looking for answers? If you are hurt or there is a problem, do you believe God will heal you? Do you believe God has the answers? What questions are you asking or not asking? Seeking something other than God in the midst of your situation is likely to get you the wrong answer and the wrong result. Lack of faith in God can lead one to take desperate measures. The only one who has the ability to truly heal is God. The only one who has the ability to change a dark situation in the mid night hour is God. The only one who truly determines if you take the next breath is God. So why go anywhere else? Just because God takes His time in answering doesn't mean He won't answer you. God works on His time not yours. And He loves to work even more when you put your faith in Him into action.

He Has NO Hold On You
John 14:30
30I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of the world is coming. He has no hold on me,
Jesus told the disciples many times that He would not be with them for long, though they didn't understand. At times it may have even sounded like Jesus played charades because he did not always use the same name for Satan each time but the prince of the world is Satan. Jesus was bold in his statement that the prince has no hold on him. For who can hold the Son of God? Who can hold the one who was Spirit along next to God creating the earth? Did you know that if you are in Christ, the prince of the world has no hold on you? He only has hold on those who dare not to be connected to Christ and find all their value in the world because it then that they are weak and the prince takes over. But those in Christ have the power and ability to defeat the prince with one word. That word is Jesus. When in Christ, crying out the name of Jesus and saying help me is the code red for rescue. When in Christ and God's word and daily communication with Him, you stomp on the head of the prince of the world. When in Christ, you show the prince he has NO hold on you. Even if you stumble, because you know the one who can redeem you and repent, the prince still has no hold. You slip right through his fingers.

Moving Mountains
Matthew 21:21
21 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.
Just a few days prior to Jesus making the statement above, he and the disciples were walking and saw a fig tree off in the distance. Jesus wanted to pull fruit from the fig tree. When He and the disciples arrived at the fig tree, Jesus discovered though the fig tree was alive, it was not bearing any fruit. So at that moment He pronounced its death. A few days later when passing the fig tree again, it had indeed died. The disciples were amazed. And then Jesus told them that with faith, not only could they do what He did but they would be able to move mountains.
Now to many that sounds just crazy. But with Christ, nothing is impossible according to His word. First of all, the tree which was alive was not bearing fruit. It was a fruit tree that did not bear fruit. It had a purpose but was not serving its purpose. So if it was not serving its purpose, why was it still in existence? There are some things in our lives that look alive from a distance but up close they are actually not serving their purpose in any way, they are just there. Just as Jesus did, it is time to pronounce those things as dead. The Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines a mountain as a mass of land higher than a hill. It is considered to be something fixed. Much more than the fig tree. But Jesus said you and I have the ability to look at what looks like a fixed mass and tell it to move and it will indeed do so. A mountain in your life can be anything but with your faith to look beyond what you see with your physical eyes and focus with your spiritual eyes, you can command that the mountain in your life be removed. So what's it gonna be? Are you going to have something that looks alive from the distance but is really not serving a purpose and is just there to stay put or will you just command that it go ahead look dead just as it really it is? And will you declare any obstacle that stands in your way to be removed? It will all be done according to your faith.
