Psalm 53:2
God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
As the NIV
Study Bible states, the psalmist wrote the 53 psalm to be used in the
time of affliction. It is to be used in the time when many mock God. Our
Father in heaven earnestly looks at us and our relationships. Is there
anyone who understands that they can not do anything worthwhile without
God? Is there any one who understands that doing evil to one surely will
not be missed by the one who sees all? No one has been perfect in the
area of which God speaks. Everyone can use a moral upgrade. Some more
than others. But when the intent is to harm God's people, the one doing
the harm will always be in fear mode. They will always look over their
shoulder even when there is no threat. Falling victim to this type of
fear, as the notes in the NIV
Study Bible states, is a curse from God. Again, God looks at us and our
relationships. Is each person just or thoughtful in how they treat one
another?
